Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, maintaining accountability for all assigned patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in clinical conditions, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to sudden changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Direct and guide patient/family education and supervise auxiliary nursing personnel.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and fulfill mandatory reporting requirements for child/adult abuse.
• Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting (ER setting preferred).
• Licensure: Current and valid Pennsylvania State RN License.
• Certifications: * Current BLS (Required upon hire).
o CLS (Required within 30 days of hire).
o PALS and/or ENPC (Required within 30 days of hire).
o Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation (Required within 30 days of hire).
• Education: BSN preferred.
• Preferred Credentials: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
